Network Services Team Lead

As Network Services Team Lead, you will be working on global large-scale network infrastructures for both CCBill and our integration partner phoenixNAP. PhoenixNAP has more than 17 data centers around the world, operates a multi-100Gigabit private network that includes transatlantic and transpacific links, and pushes more than a Terabit of network traffic to the Internet.

Working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will lead a team of Network Engineers and will support clients with maintaining and improving their infrastructure and assist with rolling out new company product lines.

Location: US, EU & Remote

Time Zone: Phoenix, Arizona

Working Hours: 8am until 4pm PHX time, Monday to Friday (40 hours); fully remote.

On Call Schedule: not part of an on-call schedule; to be available as an escalation point for the Network Engineers scheduled on call.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Network Services team in all locations (US, Serbia, Malta and remote).
  • Guides the Network Services Team in overseeing technical and operational compliance of all networking systems to ensure that security measures are abided by and to optimize the efficiency of the network.
  • Strives for continuous improvement to ensure that the network infrastructure attains maximum performance, security and availability.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, and processes.
  • Co-ordinate the network services team to troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor ticketing systems to ensure that network issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Utilize network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, alert and measure performance of network.
  • Maintain effective communications with vendors, peers and clients in support of assigned projects and initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  • Provides a central point of reference for team members, other teams, and peers regarding projects and procedures.
  • Participates in the recruitment process for new team members to ensure that the required skill sets and competencies are added to the team.
  • Identifies training needs for employees and actively coaches team members to ensure that there is constant improvement in their technical skills and productivity.
  • Carries out yearly performance assessments substantiated with clear examples.
  • Coaches team members so that there is constant improvement in their technical skills and productivity.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. degree preferred, or 10 years equivalent experience in large scale enterprises
  • Vast experience leading a team of network engineers
  • Understands complex routing/switching network designs and deployments
  • Extensive knowledge of different vendors and products
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and of VPN
  • Extensive knowledge of DDoS Protection systems
  • Strong experience in PCI audits and remediation
  • Strong business orientation with a demonstrated knowledge of the IT industry
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal and external clients
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
