Asset Management Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Asset Management Supervisor role involves the purchasing, inventory, tracking and distribution of IT related assets as well as shift supervision. Additional duties include: the management of software acquisition, maintenance renewals and costing. This position will involve all aspects of hardware and software asset management, as well as shipping logistics.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide supervision and guidance to the asset management team in conjunction with manager.
  • Procurement and management of IT related hardware and software.
  • Support contract execution and compliance, which includes managing maintenance renewals with high quality and the consumption of software contract related services.
  • Drive strategic improvement of hardware and software asset management processes, tools and governance.
  • Maintain and create relationships with vendors and contact vendors for quotes and pricing.
  • Review quotes for accuracy and create purchase orders for the acquisition of technology products.
  • Track orders through the entire order and shipping process until delivery is made.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Collect information for budgeting, software compliance and inventory.
  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT hardware and software asset management data information.
  • Allocate and track software assets for external and temporary use cases.
  • Resolve pricing issues and order delays with vendors, while keeping the end user notified of status.
  • Assist with the preparation, organization and completion of time sensitive projects via ticketing system and end user correspondence.
  • Correspond with business and technology partners to coordinate and fulfill internal/external IT needs globally.
  • Analyze information, guidelines and requirements from different sources to evaluate alternatives and make effective judgements.
  • Resolve pricing issues and order delays with vendors, while keeping the end user notified of status.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 – 3 years experience as a shift supervisor or team lead is preferred.
  • Previous work experience with computer hardware and software.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple high priority efforts / competing priorities and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well within teams.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of software application products and services.
  • Software licensing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical personnel.
